Herbs should be harvested at late morning. They should be dry, but not too warm. When it’s getting hot the essential oils evaporate and the herbs loose power. Don’t harvest directly after rainy days because the valuable ingredients are quiet low at that time. Give the plants one or two days to recover.
My discovery of the summer was lemon verbena (Aloysia citrodora). I got it as a “lemon bush” from a local discounter and love the look, the scent, and the taste. It’s lemony and fresh.
